Force-Wise Vacancy Distribution

Candidates must indicate their preference of forces in the online application. Once submitted, the order of preference cannot be changed. Understanding the role of each force is crucial before applying.

Note: Vacancies are earmarked State/UT-wise. Candidates are required to submit Domicile/PRC against their state to claim these vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria (As on 01/01/2026)

1. Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/University on or before 01-01-2026. Candidates appearing in the exam who do not possess the valid mark sheet by this date are not eligible.

2. Age Limit

Candidates should be between 18 and 23 years. The crucial date for age calculation is 01-01-2026.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2026

The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 Regional Languages. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

How to Apply Online

The application process is now hosted on the new SSC website (ssc.gov.in). Old registration numbers from ssc.nic.in are invalid.

• One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit ssc.gov.in and click on “Login or Register”. Create your new account using Aadhaar and mobile number verification.
• Login: Use your new Registration Number and Password to access the dashboard. Click on “Apply” under the ‘Constable (GD) 2026’ tab.
• Fill Details: Carefully fill in your educational details and select your Force Preferences (1 to 7).
• Live Photograph: This is the most critical step. You cannot upload an old photo. You must use a webcam or the ‘mySSC’ app to capture a live photo. Ensure the background is plain and lighting is adequate.
• Upload Signature: Upload a scanned signature (10-20 KB) in JPEG format.
